John Doerr is one of the most famous venture capitalists in the world. He’s backed a handful of successful companies, including Compaq, Amazon, Google, Sun, Netscape, Palm, and others. He is known for his hard work and acute ability to spot a future great company. He also has a Friendster page and a MySpace page.
John Doerr – on social networks? You bet! We found this out by typing Doerr’s email address into Rapleaf (you will need to know his email address to try this at home) and out pop’s John Doerr’s Rapleaf profile, with links to his social network profiles.
His MySpace page is pretty light…He last logged in on Aug 5, 2006 and his sole friend is everyone’s favorite social networker, Tom. However, Doerr’s Friendster page is very complete (probably because he backed Friendster as well). On Friendster, you can see he’s 56, married, and likes the book “Good to Great” - one of my favorites too.
This shows the power of Rapleaf … just type someone’s email address in and you’ll find some treasured reputation related information on them. Other Silicon Valley people on Rapleaf include Reid Hoffman, Michael Arrington, Om Malik, and millions of others.
