Rapleaf is looking for an Amazing Comp Sci/Engineering Intern

We’re looking for an outstanding software engineering intern (paid position) to join the Rapleaf team this fall. If you’ve ever dreamed about living in the luxury of a fully-stocked kitchen, now is your chance. As an added bonus, you’ll be working with some of the best software engineers in the industry and get valuable experience in a startup. Position specs are below. Also we’re offering a $250 referral bonus if we hire an intern you referred.

Rapleaf is looking for an amazing computer science/engineering intern!

Rapleaf (www.rapleaf.com) is an internet startup backed by some of the most well-known investors in Silicon Valley. We’re in downtown San Francisco, CA near all the best lunch and dinner spots. Very accessible via BART, bus, and other public transportation.

We have 11 people (7 being hard-core engineers) building game-changing technology…we’ll likely file 6-10 patents this year.

So get hands-on, industry experience by taking the fall semester/quarters off and work here at Rapleaf (we’ll also consider local candidates who would like to work part-time while in school).

Qualifications:

- Currently an undergrad or grad student
- Amazing coder who takes no prisoners. Master of all things Internet. One of the best coders.
- Desire to learn new languages. We use Ruby on Rails….you can pick this up quickly.
- Intensely driven and proactive person
- Quick learner and real doer. Err on execution over strategy.
- Likeable person who garners respect on and off the job.
- Thrive on chaos, risk, and uncertainty.
- Should be easy to get along with, nice, fun, smart, ethical, and low-maintenance.
- Want to spend your time learning from some of the best SW engineers in the industry.

Role:
- Help build out Rapleaf’s next set of ground-breaking features.
- Build algorithms to normalize data on over a hundred million people.

About Rapleaf:

Rapleaf is an internet startup in San Francisco backed by some of the most well-known investors in Silicon Valley. Clients include e-commerce companies, lead gen firms, telcos, and more; these clients learn about their customers in order to give them a better user experience. Our aim is to whitelist the world.

Goal:

To make it more profitable to be ethical.

Role:
- Develop new revenue streams.

- Sell new and existing customers.

- Lead in all aspects of deal development, prospecting, sourcing, negotiating and closing. This will include strategic partnerships, distribution deals, and corporate development.

- First sales/BD person at company (to date all sales have been made by the CEO).

yes .. we’re searching for employee #6.

systems engineer / operations engineer / network architect … all rolled into one.

You will set up and run all of Rapleaf’s infrastructure. And you’ll start from scratch. You get to build the system and don’t have to undo someone else’s mistakes.

Bear in mind, these guys are looking for “amazing” staffers. RapLeaf recently hired a marketing person after reviewing 436 resumes.

This position will be one of two non-engineers at the company (me being the other person). The other four people at the company are engineers. We’re looking for a really smart, motivated, multi-tasking, entrepreneurial, and highly-adaptable person.

This person must:

• self-manage and potentially manage others
• Be able to quickly grow as the company grows
